Oigo is system-wide dictation for your Mac. Hold ⌥Space in any app, talk, release — the transcript lands where your cursor is. Everything runs on your Mac. Nothing leaves it.
How it works
From any app. A small HUD confirms Oigo is recording and shows a live one-line preview of what it hears.
Transcription runs live and on-device while you talk. Audio is saved to disk from the first word, so nothing is ever lost.
The transcript is pasted at your cursor — cleaned up first if you’re in Clean mode. Under a second, then the HUD gets out of your way.
Works everywhere your cursor does — Mail, Slack, Xcode, a web form. If an app refuses synthetic input, Oigo copies the result to your clipboard instead and tells you so.

Privacy
Recording, transcription, and cleanup all run on Apple’s on-device speech models. Oigo has no server, no account, no analytics — and the source is public, so you don’t have to take our word for it.

History & recovery
Audio is written to disk from the first word, before transcription starts. If a paste fails, a mic disconnects, or your Mac sleeps mid-sentence, the recording survives — open History, retry transcription, copy the text again. Audio follows your retention setting; transcripts stay until you delete them.

No. Recording and transcription use Apple’s on-device speech frameworks. Oigo makes no network requests — you can verify this in the source, or with Little Snitch.
It removes filler words (um, uh, like), fixes punctuation and capitalization, and joins broken sentences. It never rewrites your meaning, and the raw transcript is always preserved in History.
Microphone (to hear you), Accessibility (to paste into other apps), and Speech Recognition (for on-device models). Accessibility is optional — without it, Oigo copies results to your clipboard instead.
